Board of Public Utilities

Columbia Power & Water Systems operates under the Board of Public Utilities of the City of Columbia, Tennessee.  There are 5 members of the Board, 1 of which must be a member of the City Council.  Members of the Board are appointed by the Mayor and ratified by the City Council to serve staggered 4-year terms.

2026 Schedule of Meetings

Formal board meetings are typically held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (exceptions due to Holiday or other schedule conflicts), beginning at 3 p.m. in the CPWS board room at 201 Pickens Lane. Study Sessions are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month (exceptions due to Holiday or other schedule conflicts), beginning at 3 p.m. in the CPWS board room at 201 Pickens Lane. There will be a public comment period before each meeting for anyone in attendance.
