New customer fee schedule effective Oct. 1, 2025

Columbia Power & Water Systems has updated its policies on disconnect and reconnections.

As always, CPWS encourages customers with an outstanding balance to call 931-388-4833 to speak with a Customer Service Representative prior to disconnection for potential payment options, such as non-profit support agencies and/or payment plans. CPWS customers will continue to be sent a separate Past Due Notice to inform customers of a potential service interruption.

Beginning October 1, 2025, customers with medical conditions that require the use of life support equipment must call CPWS prior to disconnection to arrange payment utilizing the current CPWS payment arrangement policy.

For customers who are disconnected for non-payment, Service will be reconnected once the customer has paid the outstanding balance in full, including a reconnection fee.

All utility services may be reconnected during normal business hours. If payment is made by 2 p.m., services will be reconnected the same day. Any payment made after 2 p.m. may have to wait until the next business day (Weekdays 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) for water and broadband or the next day (Any day 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) for power restoration.

The customer will be charged a reconnection fee based on the current CPWS Customer Service Fee schedule, which will also be updated effective Oct. 1, 2025. Reconnection fees for residential customers will be $50 for power and water, while commercial customers will be assessed a $100 reconnection fee.

For customer requested service calls during holidays or after hours, a $75 fee may be charged.

If the outage or service call is the fault of CPWS, no fees will be assessed to customers.
