In a continued effort to better inform its customers and the public, Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) named longtime area journalist Chris Yow as its new communications specialist on Monday, April 21.

A veteran of the news industry, Yow joins CPWS after spending the last eight years in Middle Tennessee serving Spring Hill, Columbia and surrounding communities at local newspapers, the Spring Hill Advertiser News, Columbia Daily Herald and Main Street Maury.

Through this new position, CPWS aims to increase public awareness of ongoing infrastructure upgrades and the company’s efforts to sustain the growth in the communities it serves.

“This is an exciting time for Columbia Power & Water Systems and having someone like Chris join our team to help tell our story is something we are anticipating being a great positive in the community,” CPWS CEO Jonathan Hardin said. “We have a lot of big things happening within our organization, and Chris has the experience and knowledge to articulate all of those to our customers.”

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Maury County in a role of this magnitude,” Yow said. “It’s no secret that CPWS and this community is in a period of transition when it comes to how it will serve a rapidly growing customer base.

“My top priority will be to make sure our community is well-informed with information on those projects, along with all the changes and exciting things happening within the company.”
