CPWS ‘team effort’ helps get PowerNet customers back online

Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS) power and broadband teams worked diligently on Monday, June 2, to restore services to its customers following an outage caused by a motor vehicle accident on Hatcher Lane that interrupted power services in the area.

Included in the outage was the CPWS office, which temporarily interrupted both power and broadband services. Once power service was restored, most CPWS PowerNet customers were also restored, though certain areas and customers with legacy equipment were not immediately restored.

Due to the diligence of the CPWS broadband team working overtime, almost all PowerNet customers were back online by the next morning.

“I would like to thank our team for stepping up and resolving the outage in a safe and timely manner,” said Brad Tebben, Director of Broadband Operations. “I would also like to express to our current and future Broadband customers that CPWS Broadband holds ourselves to very high standards to minimize any down time customers may experience.”

CPWS would like to commend the following employees for going above and beyond in their duties to help get our services restored quickly: Brian Swindle, Johnna Caudle, Lesa Andrews, Jayson Stacy, Daniel Boshers, Matthew Gilliam and Ricardo Williams.

“We have so many of our employees who deserve a special pat on the back for their work on Monday,” CPWS CEO Jonathan Hardin said. “From the power and broadband divisions to our dedicated customer service team that fielded hundreds of calls, the dedication of CPWS employees to our customers was on full display.”
